Poldot is an independent digital publication about space. We cover astronomy, astrophysics, space exploration, the solar system, and the missions and instruments that make discovery possible. Our motto is simple: The Universe, Uncovered.
What we do
We explain what new observations mean, how spacecraft and telescopes actually work, and why a result matters — including where the science is still uncertain. We aim to be useful to curious readers with no technical background, without oversimplifying for those who already know the field.
Most of our articles fall into six sections:
- Astronomy — observing the sky and the methods astronomers use to measure it.
- Space Exploration — rovers, landers, crewed flight and the people and machines going beyond Earth.
- Solar System — the Sun, planets, moons and small bodies of our cosmic neighbourhood.
- Astrophysics — black holes, stars, galaxies, dark matter and cosmology.
- Missions & Technology — telescopes, spacecraft and instruments, and how they are built.
- Cosmic Discoveries — new findings, explained in context.
How we work
Our reporting relies on peer-reviewed research, preprints clearly identified as such, and data and statements from space agencies, observatories and research teams. We prefer primary sources over secondary coverage, and we say so when a claim has not yet been independently confirmed. You can read the details in our Editorial Policy.
Imagery
Much of the imagery on Poldot comes from NASA, ESA and other public scientific archives. We credit each image, and we label artist’s concepts and illustrations so they are not mistaken for photographs.
Independence
Poldot is not affiliated with any space agency, launch provider or manufacturer. We do not accept payment for coverage. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, it will be clearly labelled as such.
